HCP Acquires Sorrento Mesa Office Campus

Scripps Wateridge Corporate Center was sold for $26.1 million to an affiliate of Irvine, CA-based HCP Inc. The two-building office campus in San Diego’s Sorrento Mesa market had been owned by an affiliate of Boston-based Colony Northstar Inc.

The property encompasses roughly 124,300 square feet, and is located at 6925 and 6965 Lusk Blvd. The buildings were constructed in 1991 on a three-acre campus.

Qualcomm Inc. fully occupies the 6965 building, while the 6925 building was vacant at the time of sale. HCP plans to convert the vacant building into a “flex” R&D building with office and laboratory space.

CBRE’s Louay Alsadek and Hunter Rowe represented the seller.
