Hawker Beechcraft Facility Being Revamped into Hangars

Western LLC, a developer of aviation-oriented real estate, is redeveloping an 8.9-acre site that once held a Hawker Beechcraft maintenance facility at San Antonio International Airport. The Colorado-based developer is building a 100,280-square-foot facility on the acreage, which will include seven hangars and 25,000 square feet of office space. The $25 million project is being built at 10440 John Cape Rd., and hangars will range between 12,000 and 15,000 square feet.

The project is Western’s first with the airport. The company is handling the design, development and financing of the facility, as well as the leasing to corporate clients. The development initiative is the largest single private/corporate capital project in the airport’s history, according to the airport’s Aviation Director, Russ Handy.
