Hasbro May Move HQ from Rhode Island to Boston
Toy giant Hasbro Inc. is considering moving its headquarters to Boston from owned space in Pawtucket, RI, reported the Boston Business Journal. Such a move would bolster a still-recovering downtown Boston while dealing a blow to the Ocean State business community.
The company has recently toured multiple downtown Boston office buildings, according to real estate sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
One of the world’s largest toy makers, Hasbro is looking for roughly 200,000 to 250,000 square feet, a huge block of space, especially in the post-COVID market, sources told the Business Journal. It has also considered relocating to Boston’s suburbs.
In a statement, a Hasbro spokeswoman told the Business Journal, “As Hasbro continues to evolve, we’re exploring options for our global headquarters to make sure it is a space that can best serve our employees, partners, and business needs for years to come.”
