Harvard, Tishman Speyer, Breakthrough Cut Ribbon on Mixed-Use Complex in Allston

Harvard University, Tishman Speyer and Breakthrough Properties were joined on June 23 by Mayor Michelle Wu and a host of university, elected, local community and business leaders to cut the ribbon on the first phase of the Enterprise Research Campus (ERC), a nine-acre mixed-use development in Boston’s Allston neighborhood.

The first phase of the ERC, a development led by Tishman Speyer and Breakthrough in partnership with the Harvard Allston Land Company, includes One Milestone, a laboratory building anchored by Roche; a 343-unit apartment property; a boutique hotel; a conference center; 40,000 square feet of retail and restaurants; and more than two acres of publicly accessible open space anchored by the new Allstonway.

“With the ERC, we have created a world-leading innovation environment that will complement and accelerate cutting-edge research taking place at Harvard and the surrounding region,” said Breakthrough CEO Dan Belldegrun. “With Roche Genetech’s innovation center as its anchor, One Milestone will produce dynamic partnerships between academia and industry, paving the way for countless life-changing discoveries.”
