Harrison Street Brings in Asset Management Expert

Dave Liu has joined Harrison Street as VP, asset management, after serving in a similar capacity at Ventas. Liu will oversee investments within Harrison Street’s medical, life science and senior housing portfolios.

At Ventas, Liu was responsible for asset management of the REIT’s university-based Life Sciences & Innovation portfolio, overseeing six million square feet across 32 assets. Previously, he was a director in real estate, acquisitions and dispositions for Sears Holdings.

Ben Mohns, head of asset management for Chicago-based Harrison Street, said the firm anticipates drawing on Liu’s “considerable healthcare asset management expertise, university relationships and proven track record of driving performance and execution.”

Liu’s hiring follows the recent addition of Gregory Dandrea as VP of  Harrison Street’s asset management team. Before joining Harrison Street, Dandrea oversaw the asset management group at Aspen Heights Partners, and prior to that, he was a senior asset manager at Virtus Real Estate Capital.
