Harrison Street Bolsters Social Infrastructure Investment Team

Investment manager Harrison Street has added John Hopkins as VP to oversee and execute investments of its Social Infrastructure Fund (SIF). Launched in 2018, SIF has raised more than $1.2 billion, and targets highly structured investments in critical infrastructure serving universities, health systems and government entities. It has deployed more than $400 million in equity.

“Now more than ever, it is imperative that global institutions embrace clean energy and sustainable construction,” said Christopher Merrill, chairman and CEO of Harrison Street.  “We are proud to be a partner of choice for some of the nation’s most important universities, health systems and municipalities, as they work to improve the environment and meet their social responsibility goals.”

With more than 10 years of energy project finance and development experience, Hopkins joins a social infrastructure team that also includes portfolio manager Jim Hennessy and recently-promoted directors Carolyn Arida and Michael Leonczyk.
