Haggen Closing San Diego County Stores
Haggen, the Bellingham, Wash.-based grocery chain that recently entered the super-competitive Southern California market, is already closing stores.
Haggen says it will close six of its 25 new stores in San Diego County over the next two months, due to the fierce competition in the area.
The six closings are just a fraction of the 27 stores Haggen will ultimately close in Southern California during the next 60 days. In total, Haggen acquired 146 Safeway and Albertsons stores in Southern California.
