H-E-B Unveils Plans for Southwest Austin Store
San Antonio-headquartered grocery company H-E-B announced plans to build a 90,000-square-foot store in southwest Austin. The development will go north on more than 30 acres at U.S. 290 and FM 1826, with construction expected to launch in February 2020. The store is scheduled to open in late 2020 or early 2021.
The new grocery center will replace an existing one nearby, at 7010 SH 71; which will close when the new one opens. The new store’s design will focus on environmental sustainability, including rainwater harvesting, water retention ponds and provisions in place for future solar panel installations.
“We are excited to answer the call for a new store for the growing community in southwest Austin,” said H-E-B’s Leslie Sweet. “With an enhanced in-store experience and the highest standard of service and selection, we tailored the store to serve the needs of our longtime Oak Hill customers that deserve the best we have to offer.”
