H-E-B Planning Parking Deck, Skybridge to its HQ

Grocery chain H-E-B is seeking approval from San Antonio’s Historic and Design Review Commission to build a six-story parking garage across the street from its corporate headquarters at 646 Flores St. The plan also calls for a skybridge across E. Cesar Chavez Boulevard, that would connect the garage to the headquarters.

The garage would accommodate 750 vehicles, and would feature façade screening, a shading trellis, LED lighting, landscaping, and new fencing. The project is part of H-E-B’s $100-million investment into downtown San Antonio. H-E-B is also building an additional surface parking lot at 404 S. Flores, which will be used for overflow parking while the garage is under construction.

The $1 million project, if approved, will begin in January 2018, and end in April 2018. The lot on which it will be built is a little more than half an acre.
