H-E-B Planning 1M-SF Distribution Facility

H-E-B announced it would build a distribution and manufacturing plant on 871 acres situated on San Antonio’s east side. The grocer’s investment in the proposed one-million-square-foot center will be $130-million over a three-year period, with the single-build warehouse initially creating 300 new jobs. The site is at East Houston Street and South Foster Road.

The San Antonio-headquartered food retailer indicated it no longer has room to grow at its current distribution and manufacturing facilities, one of which is in San Marcos, TX. The other facility is at 4710 N. Interstate 35 in San Antonio. Additionally, the company has growing supply needs along the Interstate 10 corridor, which makes the Foster Road site an optimal one, according to an H-E-B spokeswoman.

H-E-B will eventually develop a master-planned campus with manufacturing and warehouse facilities, along with transportation.
