H-E-B Breaks Ground on Prototype Store

Grocer H-E-B started construction on a prototype location in Houston’s forthcoming Buffalo Heights District. The 96,000-square-foot store will offer convenient dining options, and access to the seven-story mixed-use building.

Houston-based Midway is developing the community for local investor Russell Gordy. Gordy said he hopes to make the space “a place where people can live, play and work.”

The project’s living and working aspects will be situated above H-E-B, with multiple floors of office space and 230 multifamily units planned. Apartment amenities will include a swimming pool, yoga studio and open-air lounge.

The project is scheduled for completion in spring 2019.
