H-E-B Adding New Cold Storage Facility in Temple

With the help of the City of Temple and the Temple Economic Development Council (TEDC), the San Antonio-based grocery chain is building a new automated frozen distribution line in Temple, Texas. The project will grow the current footprint at its facility by 325,000 square feet. The line will support over 100 retail stores across the region, from Austin to Dallas and will require the hiring of 100 new employees.

TECD’s Adrian Cannady says H-E-B has been a good partner to the town, “H-E-B has seen many cycles of growth and expansion throughout their time in Temple and we are proud of the opportunities they continue to bring to our region.” H-E-B has been in Temple since 2010. The project will begin by year end 2022 and take two years.

With over 117 years in business, H-E-B is one of the nation’s largest independently owner food retailers and sees $36 billion a year in sales.
