GSVLabs Will Establish Innovation Hub at Pittsburgh Redevelopment

Global Silicon Valley Labs, also known as GSVlabs, recently signed a long-term lease to locate in the Hazelwood Green redevelopment in Pittsburgh. San Mateo, CA-based GSVlabs will make Pittsburgh its next innovation hub, leasing all 26,000 square feet of a former locomotive roundhouse.

The project is being developed by Almono LLC, a partnership of the Heinz Endowments, the Richard King Mellon Foundation and the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation. It’s a repurposing of the 178-acre former LTC Coke Works complex.

“We see huge potential in Pittsburgh’s rapidly growing market of entrepreneurial and startup activity, with its expanding network of unprecedented university talent and engineering, AI, and data science expertise,” said Nikhil Sinha, CEO of GSVlabs. “It’s an exciting time to be part of Almono’s vision to build the nation’s next innovation hub in Pittsburgh.”

GSVlabs previously established innovation hubs in Silicon Valley and Boston.
