GSA Plans $126M for Key California Projects
U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Administrator Emily Murphy has announced key investments for California in the agency’s fiscal year (FY) 2021 proposed $21.3 billion gross budget ($868 million net budget). The GSA budget reflects investments in real property management, information technology services, simplifying government procurement, and expanding the shared services delivered throughout government.
The GSA is the federal agency responsible for the nation’s real estate occupancy needs.
The proposed budget includes $126 million for two California projects, including $99.7 million for completing the GSA’s Calexico West Land Port of Entry project in Calexico, CA, and $26.3 million to remediate fire damage at the Federal Building complex located at 11000 Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles.
Each project highlights a compelling need, including phase two completion for the Calexico Border Crossing expansion, and the remediation of fire damage from May 2017 for the East Annex of the Wilshire Federal Complex.
