GSA Aims to Lease 126K-SF in Suburban Maryland

A federal agency may be looking to relocate from downtown Bethesda to another office building in suburban Maryland.

On May 14, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) released a pre-solicitation seeking between 110,000 and 126,000 square feet in suburban Maryland. The pre-solicitation did not specify the federal agency with an expiring lease at the Bethesda Towers office complex where the GSA is headquartered. The complex, which was built in the 1970s, houses the headquarters of two federal agencies, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commision and the U.S. Marine Mammal Commission.

According to the pre-solicitation, the agency in question is seeking a five-year lease and it will select the most economically advantageous option while at the same time taking relocation costs into account.
