Samsung Plant in Taylor

Growing Taylor Lands 100-Acre Development

With a massive Samsung plant going in (photo), the town of Taylor is on developers’ radars for projects of all stripes. Forterra Developers is planning 100 acres of development adjacent to the new factory in Taylor. Samsung is expected to hire up to 10,000 people in Taylor alone to man the $42 billion plant. The town’s population is 18,000 people.

The Austin Business Journal reports 192,000 square feet of industrial space and 81,600 square feet of flexible office space, a 10,500-square-foot gas station, 9,000 square feet of retail, single-family homes and a built-to-rent community are planned by Forterra. The project is to be completed by early 2027.

Other developers working on projects in the area include CM Realty LLC, Transcend Group Holdings LLC, iMarket America Inc., RCR Rail Park Development Co., Quannah Partners LLC, KDC and Megatel Group.
