Growing Southwest Valley Town Lands Medical Center

Buckeye Arizona will be the site of Banner Health Care’s newest hospital. The proposed 120-bed facility has enough land to expand to 300-beds, once the demand grows. The project, slated for completion in 2024 will be four stories and have 330,000-square feet of space. It will be built near Verrado Way and the I-10 freeway.

Buckeye, about 40 miles west of Phoenix, is one of the fastest growing cities in the Phoenix metro area. Banner Health already has over 100,000 members of its health network insurance organization nearby. According to Banner Vice President Scott Nordlund, “Buckeye and the surrounding Southwest Valley is growing fast, and we want to make sure our patients and health plan members have care close to where they work and live.”

The still unnamed hospital will offer imaging, surgery, labor and delivery and an emergency room.
