Growing McKinney builds $12M indoor tennis facility

Growing McKinney Scores $12M Indoor Tennis Complex

McKinney is over a third larger than it was ten year ago, expanding from 130,000 to 195,000 people. In growing towns like McKinney sports is big business. A $12 million indoor tennis court facility at McKinney’s Gabe Nesbitt Community Park just opened for business. The facility, located at 3253 Alma Road, features six indoor courts as well as training rooms, administrative offices and locker rooms. There is also a mezzanine level for viewing matches from the second floor.

Community Impact reports the new 55,000-square-foot facility joins the existing 23 outdoor tennis courts at The Courts of McKinney complex. Work began on the facility in early 2022 and was funded by bond funds, as well as Texas Parks & Wildlife grant funds.

The Courts of McKinney offers court reservations, private lessons and various membership options. A grand opening event for the facility is expected to be held later in the summer.
