Growing Biotech Firm Leases 33K SF in New Haven

Biotech firm Invivyd is more than tripling its headquarters space in downtown New Haven, CT by signing a long-term lease for about 33,000 square feet at a landmark building neighboring Yale University. The transaction was reported by Hartford Business Journal.

Invivyd will take space at 205 Church St., an historic building originally constructed in 1832 and renovated in 2015. The building sits next door to Invivyd’s current 9,000-square-foot headquarters at 209 Church St. The new premises include 17,322 square feet of ground-floor space, 12,563 square feet on the mezzanine and 2,750 square feet in the basement.

Savills worked on behalf of Invivyd in the transaction, while CBRE represented the building owner, Cooper Church LLC, which is controlled by investor David Kuperberg, according to state business records. Invivyd develops treatments for infectious diseases and was formerly based in Waltham, MA, where the company maintains a research and development lab.
