Grove at Shoal Creek Still Facing Months of Approvals

The controversial Grove at Shoal Creek, near 45th Street and Bull Creek Road in Austin, did move forward at year-end, when the Austin City Council approved the planned unit development (PUD) zoning for the proposed 75-acre development. Though the project zoning capped off a two-year struggle between developer ARG Bull Creek Ltd. and the surrounding community, the project still requires approximately eight more months of city staff approvals before construction can launch.

Garrett Martin, one of the developers, told Community Impact that the project’s commercial aspect will begin between a year, and year and a half. Plans for the development include added park space, commercial buildings and approximately 1,500 housing units.
