Groupon/Grubhub Delivery Partnership Comes to Chicago
Some nine months after a nationwide delivery partnership between locally-based Groupon and Grubhub was first announced, the service has come home to Groupon’s backyard. The arrangement enabling Grubhub customers to order delivery from participating restaurants using the Groupon platform is now live in Chicago.
“Our customers have a demonstrated desire for delivery options on Groupon,” said Groupon VP Gene McKenna. “By partnering with the premier online pickup and delivery marketplace in Grubhub, we’re able to add their amazing restaurant roster to our strong local food and drink inventory. Turning Groupon into a daily utility for our customers means having relevant, transactable inventory for every local need, and food delivery fills an important space in our marketplace.”
When the integration between the two companies is completed, Groupon users will have the ability to place delivery or pickup orders from Grubhub’s network of some 55,000 restaurant partners across the country.
