Ground Broken on $200M Arrowhead Grove
Rancho Cucamonga, CA-based National Community Renaissance broke ground on Waterman Gardens, a 411-unit public housing project in San Bernardino, CA. A $200 million development called Arrowhead Grove will replace an existing troubled 73-year old project.
Eventually, the existing 1940s-era public housing at the Waterman Gardens site will be removed, and in its place, a state-of-the-art, energy- and water-efficient community will be built. The initial phase consists of 76 new units, adjacent to the existing Waterman Gardens community. Plans call for replacing the 252 existing affordable units, plus market-rate and senior apartments.
Arrowhead Grove is being funded by a series of federal grants and is expected to boost the county’s economic output by $81.8 million.
