Ground Breaks on 90K-SF Rodriguez Elementary School

The San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District broke ground on Rodriguez Elementary School, a 90,000-square-foot educational building in the new Trace master-planned community. The school’s completion date is set for summer 2019. Once completed, the school on 12 acres at Interstate 35 and Posey Road, will be the ISD’s seventh.

The total allocation for the school is $30 million, and the project on track to come in around $26.2 million. Perkins+Will is the architect, and Barlett Cocke the general contractor.

HighPointe Communities is developing the 420-acre Trace, on which dirt work is underway. Upon buildout, Trace will have 996 single-family homes and 850 multifamily units. Acreage has also been set aside for commercial real estate uses.
