Grosvenor Donates DC Retail Space for Pop-up Bookstore

Grosvenor, a property owner and developer, has donated a retail unit in Washington, D.C., to be used as a pop-up bookstore for Turning the Page, a regional non-profit organization.

The partnership between Grosvenor and the Friendship Heights Alliance facilitated the short-term lease, allowing the pop-up bookstore to operate from May 5 to June 4 at 5211 Wisconsin Avenue NW. Turning the Page engages parents in their children’s education and provides educational resources. The bookstore aims to raise funds for the organization’s programs by selling donated used books, CDs, DVDs, and vinyl.

“Turning the Page’s pop-up bookstore will not only activate our building and the surrounding neighborhood but will also raise needed dollars for the critical programs Turning the Page provides,” said Khash Bayani, senior investment manager of Grosvenor’s D.C. office. Grosvenor has previously donated retail space in San Francisco for a local non-profit.
