Grocery Store for “Food Desert” at Lighthouse Point
Lighthouse Point Market has leased 7,000 square feet of space at Lighthouse Point, Phase I, a 12-story residential and commercial tower now under construction in the St. George neighborhood, close to the Staten Island Ferry Terminal.
Lighthouse Point Market will be a fresh food store, offering healthy, affordable options, currently not found in the St. George area of Staten Island.
“This urban market at Lighthouse Point will fill a void in the area,” said Lester Petracca, president of Triangle Equities. The market is scheduled to open in Fall 2018.
The tower will eventually include 100 new apartments, of which 20 will be permanently affordable. The first three floors will include 65,000 square feet of commercial space, split between the new grocery store and a co-working venue run by Regus’ Spaces. It is part of the larger Lighthouse Point development, include hotel, retail and residential space.
