Grocery Outlet Opens First Carroll County Location

Grocery Outlet opened its first Carroll County store in Eldersburg’s Freedom Village, its sixth store in Maryland.

The retailer, part of Grocery Outlet Holding Corp., looks to offer a budget-friendly shopping experience. Each store, founded in 1946, delivers brand-name products at discounted prices, leveraging opportunistic inventory purchases. Independent owners Gregory and Amber Phelps secured a 22,069-square-foot lease through Continental Realty Corporation’s Cherene Keenan.

“Freedom Village is the perfect venue for the Grocery Outlet concept given the presence of Goodwill Industries. Many consumers that shop at the center bring a value-oriented approach and we will fit right in and, together, serve the needs of the local community,” said Phelps.
