Griffin Capital, GWRE Break Ground on Charlottesville MF Community

GW Real Estate Partners, in collaboration with Griffin Capital, has initiated the financing and construction of The Arrowood Charlottesville, a Class A apartment community in Charlottesville, VA. Fifth Third Bank is providing construction financing for the project, which commenced last month and is expected to be completed by March 2026.

The community will feature 250 units ranging from studios to three-bedroom residences. Situated off Route 29, the pet-friendly community will include a fully amenitized clubhouse, fitness center, pool, and EV charging stations.

“The Arrowood Charlottesville represents our 23rd Qualified Opportunity Zone property to commence construction and our first in Charlottesville, Virginia,” said Eric Kaplan, president of Griffin Capital. “The property will feature attractive unit designs and amenities while offering future residents easy access to the major employment nodes of Downtown Charlottesville and the University of Virginia as well as a host of nearby retail, dining, entertainment and recreational destinations.”
