Greystar to Co-Develop Student Housing Gateway in Maryland
Salisbury University plans to break ground on the largest facility in campus history this fall, converting the former Court Plaza Shopping Center and Temple Hill Motel in Salisbury, MD into a 750-bed student housing complex. The project is expected to cost between $70 and $80 million.
The co-developers are an affiliate of South Carolina-based Greystar Real Estate Partners, and Salisbury-based Gillis Gilkerson.
The SU Foundation, Inc. purchased the sites on Route 13 southeast of Washington, D.C. Metro in 2017, and envisions adding more than 200 residential units along with amenities such as green space, a fitness center, bicycle storage, retail and a connecting pathway to the south end of campus.
Comprised of three separate buildings connected by a central courtyard, the first building in the five-story, 323,371-square-foot complex is expected to open in August 2021, with the remaining two following in 2022.
