Greystar Advances $145M Student Housing Tower in Seattle’s U-District
Charleston, SC-based Greystar acquired five parcels in Seattle’s University District for $17 million with plans to develop Lakeview Student Residences, a 21-story, 226-unit student housing tower. The $145-million project comprises an assemblage of existing apartment buildings at NE 42nd St. and 12th Ave. NE near the Burke-Gilman Trail, and U District light rail station.
Amenities will include a rock-climbing wall and rooftop decks with designated study areas, including one outfitted with entertainment features as an outdoor “game day” viewing space. The project is slated for completion in fall 2022.
Greystar’s Aaron Keeler says, “As this marks the third deal our Pacific Northwest team has closed since spring 2020, we’re proud to continue to persevere through challenging times.”
Colliers International’s Dan Chhan, Tim McKay, and Sam Wayne represented Greystar.
Wayne says, “This is a core location with high-rise zoning, just three blocks from the University of Washington, and one block from the new light rail station opening in 2021.”
Pacific Western Bank issued a $86,170,000 loan to fund the development.
