Construction on the Portland area 82-unit multifamily project, 12 Mile Crossing, is nearing completion with San Diego-based Sunrise Management taking over the lease-up and day-to-day management activities. Developed in partnership between McKenzie River Company and Gibbins Kaplan Development LLC, the new three-story community consists of four buildings on 3.42 acres and is located at 588 Southeast 217th Ave. in Gresham, 12 miles east of Portland.
The development features one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments ranging from 600 to 1,155 square feet in an open concept floorplan. Community amenities include a dog washing station, package receiving/parcel lockers, EV charging stations and covered parking.
According to Joe Greenblatt, president and CEO of Sunrise Management, 12 Mile Crossing will provide crucial workforce housing for the region.
“Both Gresham and East Multnomah counties are experiencing strong demand for new apartments at this price point, so 12 Mile Crossing fills an important void,” he said.
12 Mile Crossing is situated near I-84 and I-205 Freeways. Rents will range from $1,375 to $2,025.
The construction team included Team Construction and MWA Architects.
Lisa Brown has decades of experience in corporate communications and marketing management with organizations including Coldwell Banker Residential, Grubb & Ellis, Marcus & Millichap, NAIOP, SIOR and ALM.
In those positions, she worked in conjunction with chief executive officers and chief marketing officers to create corporate messaging, cohesive branding standards, strategic marketing plans and thought pieces. Brown is a frequent speaker at industry events and an editing adjunct professor for an online course. She has a master’s degree in mass communications from San Jose State University.
