Green Space from a Former Dorm

The board of trustees at Texarkana College in Texarkana, TX voted to tear down the TC Annex Building at 1201 Carroll and 2501 College Dr. The board has tried to find a use for the now-vacant building for several years, but ultimately decided that it would be better to do “something that will be pleasing to the community,” said Texarkana College President James Henry Russell.

As such, the building, which was a hospital, an administration building, police department and residence hall, in turns, will make way for a green space for TC’s faculty, students, and the Texarkana community. The board will deed the property to Stan Excavating at no cost. Stan Excavating will tear down the building and plant grass, then donate the property back to the college.
