Green Roof to Top Off Amazon’s Seattle CBD Campus

Columbia Green Technologies, a green roofing company in Portland, OR, will be topping off the Doppler and Meeting Center rooftops of Amazon’s vertical campus in downtown Seattle. The technologies involved will help Amazon better manage and recycle storm water.

Green roofs, which consist of actual vegetation, help capture storm water that would otherwise flow into drainage systems. Green roofs also help save money in the long term. Columbia Green Technologies offers planted-in-place, layered and pre-grown green roof systems, according to the company website.

The first building of Amazon’s downtown campus, a four-block, vertical structure, opened in December 2015. Others will open soon.
