Grading Begins on Massive Cedar Park Venture
Developers of the 118-acre CedarView center have started the horizontal infranstruction. The center, which will be anchored by Nebraska Furniture Mart is expected to open at the end of 2026 or early 2027. Sporting goods giant Scheels and a luxury hotel and conference center are also part of the project.
The Austin Business Journal reports the development at 750 E. New Hope Drive in Cedar Park will include a 250-room, full-service hotel; a 30,000-square-foot, city-owned convention center; 700,000 square feet of warehouse space; and 250,000 square feet of retail outside of the massive furniture store in the works. The project could eventually eclipse 5 million square feet of commercial space in Cedar Park. CPM Development LLC, which is affiliated with NFM, is helming the project.
The entire project is expected to generate $435 million in new tax revenue for Cedar Park in its first 25 years of operation. The company is required to invest $400 million and create 725 jobs in the first year of opening.
