Google’s 1.3M-SF Landings Development Greenlit in Mountain View

The Mountain View City Council unanimously approved Google Inc.’s Landings, a two-building, 1.3-million-square-foot development at the gateway of the city’s North Bayshore area. The project encompasses plans for a five-story, 799,842-square-foot office building on a nearly 42-acre site on Landings Drive.

A four-story parking structure, called the Huff Garage, between Alta Avenue and Huff Avenue is planned for 1,709 parking spaces and roughly 10,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space. A new pedestrian and bicycle greenway path will connect the two sites bridging over Permanente Creek. Site improvements include habitat enhancements to Permanente Creek, parking lot improvements to the properties located at 1851-1875 Charleston Rd., and a new frontage road along U.S. 101.

The city praised the design plan that will include an all-electric component. The office building is designed with a series of varied height, repeating building structures that cascade down and create a large open-space patio at the base of the building.
