Google Village Footprint Expands
Mountain View-based Google and Trammell Crow Co. affiliate, TC Agoge, acquired a 105,000-square-foot Storage Solutions complex in downtown San Jose for $32 million. The 2.7-acre site at 570 Cinnabar St. is within an expanding land assemblage envisioned for the development of Google Village.
The storage facility property is adjacent to train tracks that lead into the nearby Diridon transit station. It is a key piece that will further aid in the development of the northwest corner of downtown San Jose.
So far, Google and Trammell Crow have spent more than $180 million acquiring industrial, retail, residential and vacant lots, where a six- to eight-million-square-foot campus is envisioned for up to 20,000 employees on downtown San Jose’s western edge.
Earlier in the week, San Jose’s city council approved the sale of five former redevelopment properties near Diridon Station to Google for $67 million.
