Google Snags 140K SF at Clarion’s San Francisco Transbay Asset
Google committed to take 140,000 square feet at New York-based Clarion Partners’ 215 Fremont St. in San Francisco. Clarion had claimed the eight-story, 427,393-square-foot office building for $335.5 million earlier this year.
The Transbay district property was the longtime home of Charles Schwab. The Class A asset houses Fitbit, which occupies more than 124,000 square feet. Google is expected to take occupancy of the space later this year, though has not disclosed plans for the building.
The search giant’s San Francisco office footprint has increased by more than 60% in the past year according to the San Francisco Chronicle. That makes Google the city’s third-largest tech tenant after Salesforce and Uber.
Google’s recent expansion includes taking roughly 300,000 square feet at One Market, a 190,000-square-foot deal at One Maritime Plaza, and a 57,299-square-foot expansion at 2 Harrison St.
