Google Kicks Tires on North San Jose Campus

Google Inc. is in negotiations to take space at The Assembly, a 27-acre campus in North San Jose owned by Invesco Real Estate, the ProspectHill Group and SKS Partners. The Mountain View-based tech titan is said to be shopping an 800,000- to 900,000-square-foot space requirement.

Colliers International’s Craig Fordyce, Michael Rosendin and Shane Minnis are the listing brokers for The Assembly at North First, though, they, or the prospective tenant, are not talking publicly about the deal first reported by the Mercury News.

The multi-phased campus along North First Street has 300,000 square feet of space available, with future expansion capacity that could exceed more than 1.3 million square feet. The deal could allow Google to fashion its fourth major campus in San Jose, including the proposed Google Village in downtown, a 1.27-million-square-foot campus on North First, Nortech Parkway, and Disk Drive; and four leased buildings totaling 729,000 square feet at North First and Brokaw Road.
