Google Again Attempts to Expand HQ
Google is putting in another bid to expand its campus in Mountain View. The Internet giant’s plans to expand the headquarters was rejected by the Mountain View City Council earlier this month, so now it is shooting for the construction of a nearby 328,000-square-foot building.
The council’s main issue with the initial expansion was traffic congestion. At a hearing earlier this month, though, it did approve the construction of an 800,000-square-foot facility for Google’s campus.
Google officials say that they will be able to control potential traffic congestion on their own without the help of city officials. Google is also proposing environmental and infrastructure improvements to the area.
