Goodyear seeking partners for ballpark entertainment options

Goodyear Seeking Developers to Add to Ballpark Experience

The Goodyear Ballpark attracts 350,000 fans a year to its spring training facilities. The city wants to capitalize on the fan bases of the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Guardians to attract developers to build a high-quality, mixed-use project next to the ballpark, including retail, entertainment, and dining options.

The Phoenix Business Journal reports Goodyear issued a request for proposals seeking “qualified master developers” to take on the project, which will be located on about 58 acres of city-owned land surrounding the ballpark. The RFP also includes four retail spaces attached to the ballpark.

Arizona’s first-ever Buc-ee’s is also currently under construction near the ballpark on Bullard Avenue just south of the I-10 freeway.

Goodyear’s population has grown to 118,000 residents, a 20,000-person jump in just four years.
