Goldman Sachs Reaches for Digital Recruitment
By: Daniella Soloway
For decades, Goldman Sachs has recruited university students through in-person, first-round interviews. Beginning July 1, 2017, however, the Wall Street firm will conduct pre-recorded video interviews via HireVue.
As the firm turns towards digital applications to recruit talent, it will also use new resume screening tools and add efficiency to the follow up process. Furthermore, GS is looking into expanding its social media presence to keep up with customers’ habits.
Historically, banks have focused on the top-performing students with the highest GPAs. However, changes to the interview process will now include better vetting to find candidates who have “overcome some hardship”, and will have a “longer-term career” with the employer.
