GMH Opens 270-Bed Student Housing Community in Providence

GMH Capital Partners and partner Wexford Science & Technology LLC opened River House, a 270-bed student housing community in downtown Providence. Located at 1 Point St., the riverfront community overlooks the Providence River and is nearby Brown University, Johnson & Wales University Providence Campus, Rhode Island School of Design, Rhode Island Nursing Education Center and the University of Rhode Island.

GMH started leasing the 174-unit residence in February 2019, and residents have already started moving in. The community features fully-furnished and pet-friendly studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units that can be leased by unit or by individual bedroom. Amenities include designer bathrooms with walk-in showers, complimentary WiFi and a mounted living room smart TV as well as Amazon Echo capability features.

“GMH recognizes the specialized needs of young professionals and higher education students in today’s environment,” said president of GMH Gary Holloway, Jr. “River House’s stylish and modern apartments were designed with a focus on convenience and comfortability to appeal to their busy lifestyles and schedule demands.”
