GM Plans 1.2M-SF Industrial Park in Arlington

General Motors is building a 1.2-million-square-foot industrial park on the site of the former Six Flags mall in Arlington, TX. The project, dubbed the Arlington Logistics Center, is located on 83 acres at the northwest corner of Texas 360 and East Division Street, across from GM’s Arlington assembly plant.

Arlington Logistics Center will house GM suppliers in two warehouses scheduled for completion in December 2018. The buildings will employ up to 1,800, according to a report issued by the city of Arlington, and may qualify for tax incentives and abatements including a $6 million grant.

GM’s Arlington plant, which is the global home of the company’s full-size SUV production, employs roughly 4,200 people. Currently, it manufactures more than 300,000 SUVs— about one per minute—and is undergoing its own $1.4 billion expansion to add one million square-feet to the existing footprint of well over four million. The expansion will be completed in late 2018.
