Global Team Will Design New Stony Brook Southampton Hospital

A team of Rafael Viñoly Architects and HKS Architects was selected to design the new Stony Brook Southampton Hospital on 15 acres at Stony Brook Southampton University. With a budget of $305 million, the project is slated for completion in 2025.

“Both Rafael Viñoly Architects and HKS Architects are global firms who together bring us brilliant architectural talent and deep and broad healthcare expertise,” said Ken Wright, chairman of the Southampton Hospital Association.

The plan for the new hospital is the result of research by Erdman, a national strategic planning firm specializing in healthcare, which studied service offerings, population health, patient experience, new care models and the existing facility. The new facility will replace the 125-bed Meeting House Lane hospital location in Southampton, NY, which dates back to 1924.
