Glamping Hits Yosemite National Park
Glamping, or luxury camping, is coming to Yosemite National Park in the form of airstream hotels. Santa Barbara startup AutoCamp allows travelers to book a stay in high-end tents and airstreams that offer boutique-style hotel amenities to the outdoor experience of camping.
Currently, adventure seekers can book stays in Santa Barbara and the Russian River Valley, but the latest offering will include Yosemite National Park. In partnership with Ohio-based Airstream, the pair will offer stays across a 35-acre site in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Architecture firm Anacapa is creating a 4,000-square-foot clubhouse with fire pits, meeting space, and a food hall. They’ll also include an outdoor swimming pool and rooftop deck.
With 15 luxury tents, 80 Airstream trailers, and three cabin suites, guests can access the park through daily shuttles or visit the historic town of Mariposa. Construction is currently in progress, with opening dates available for stay in 2019. Nightly rates start at $225.
