Gilbane Development Names James Patchett as President and CEO

Providence, RI-based Gilbane Development Company, the real estate development and asset management arm of Gilbane, Inc. appointed James Patchett as its new president and CEO. He will succeed Edward Broderick, who was recently appointed CEO of Gilbane and served as president of Gilbane Development since January 2014.

Before joining Gilbane Development, Patchett served as partner in the Real Estate practice at McKinsey & Company and as president & CEO of the New York City Economic Development Corporation, where he ran a real estate portfolio of more than 60 million square feet, managed $10 billion in development and infrastructure projects, and helped establish New York City as an innovation hub in life sciences, fintech, cybersecurity and green energy. 

    Patchett also previously served as CEO at A&E Real Estate and was VP in the Urban Investment Group of Goldman Sachs. In addition, he served as chief of staff to the NYC Deputy Mayor for Housing and Economic Development.

Since 1999, Paul has volunteered as the newsletter editor of passenger rail advocacy groups (one national, one local).
