Gilbane Development Launches Leasing for DC Housing Redevelopment

Gilbane Development has launched leasing for Phase 2 of Barnaby & 7th, an affordable housing redevelopment project in Washington, D.C.

Phase 2 will deliver 229 units across four buildings, further expanding access to high-quality, affordable housing in the nation’s capital. Set to open in the summer of 2026, Phase 2 of Barnaby and 7th features a mix of studio to three-bedroom apartments. The plans call for four new residential buildings, and the community will feature outdoor spaces, including landscaped seating areas and a shared patio.

Phase 2 builds on the momentum of The Upland, the recently completed Phase 1 of Barnaby & 7th, which delivered 169 units. Phase 3 of Barnaby & 7th will include an additional 100 rental units spanning across one multifamily building. When complete, the project will deliver 498 new affordable housing units located at the intersection of 7th Street, SE and Barnaby Road, SE.
