Giants, Tishman Speyer Submit Plans for Mission Rock MXU
The Mission Rock team, consisting of co-developers Tishman Speyer and the San Francisco Giants, submitted its design application to San Francisco’s Planning Department for Phase 1 of the development project. Located along San Francisco’s waterfront across from Oracle Park, Mission Rock will transform 28 acres into a new mixed-use urban neighborhood.
Phase 1 designs with four buildings, ranging from eight to 23-stories, and a park are now underway, with groundbreaking planned for early 2020. The plan includes two residential buildings with 540 units, two commercial buildings with 550,000 square feet, a retail corridor with 85,000 square feet and a five-acre waterfront China Basin Park. This initial phase is expected to be completed between 2022 and 2023.
The public-private partnership includes the Giants, Tishman Speyer and the Port of San Francisco. The three-phased development will add roughly 1,2000 residential units, 1.4 million square feet of office space and more than 200,000 square feet of retail and local manufacturing space overall.
