Private investment firm GI Partners announced it has concluded its initial fundraising for the firm’s new GI Real Estate Essential Tech and Science Fund, reaching $1.45 billion. The fundraising period beat expectations.
“GI Partners has been investing in tech and science real estate for over 20 years, and that experience provides us with a critical competitive advantage when evaluating assets,” John Sheputis, managing director of GI Partners and head of the ETS Fund, said. “Our team’s familiarity with markets and operators helps us identify and execute on lower risk growth opportunities in these sectors. We created the ETS Fund to build a diverse portfolio of tech and science assets which will provide a mix of income and growth.”
It was one of the biggest initial raises for such a real estate fund in recent history. The fund aims to invest in properties related to technology and life science.
