GFP Real Estate Leases 1M-SF of Office Space in 2017

The real estate firm formerly known as Newmark Holding celebrated its new name in 2017 — and over a million square feet of space leased at its office properties. GFP took its new name to prevent confusion with Newmark Knight Frank, now preparing an initial public offering.

“We experienced phenomenal leasing momentum in 2017,” said Brian Steinwurtzel, who is co-CEO of GFP Real Estate with founder Aaron Gural.

Top commercial real estate transactions include:

– At 200 Varick St., Omnicom Group’s extension for 200,000 square feet and Film Forum’s renewal for 10,500 square feet

– At 505 Eighth Ave., Taylor’s Inn’s lease for 12,700 square feet
