GFI to Redevelop 33-Acre Parcel in Grafton

Boston-based real estate firm GFI Partners has purchased a 33-acre parcel at 124 Westboro Road in Grafton, MA, from MassDevelopment for $2.65 million, Boston Business Journal reported. The site, a former state hospital, is slated for redevelopment into two industrial or life sciences buildings totaling approximately 200,000 square feet.

Zoned for office, research and development, and light manufacturing, the property has been designated “bio-ready” by the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council. The location has access to an MBTA commuter-rail station, Tufts University science park, and veterinary school, as well as UMass Medical School.

Construction is set to commence in summer 2024, with completion expected by early 2026, following approval from the town of Grafton in January. GFI has a history of developing industrial properties, with ongoing projects in Shrewsbury and Devens.
